Part IV of my Sailor Moon x USJ 2019 haul is all about Serenity! If you wish to see the other reviews, here are the links: part I, part II, and part III.
Princess Serenity Shoulder Bag: Like most Princess Serenity designs, there's the usual pearls she wears in her hair, and of course, the crescent moon. The material is soft and feels like faux leather. The lining inside has a print of the moon castle, which was a pleasant surprise. The stock photo only showed the exterior, so I had no idea what the interior looked like before I received this!
Princess Serenity Pencil Case: This case (or pouch) reminds me of the Princess Serenity pouch produced by Sun-Star Stationery few years ago, except the USJ version has bigger pearls and more frills. It's called a pencil case, but you can really put anything you want in it. I don't think I would want to put any pens in it in case it stains the material.
Princess Serenity Hair Clip: From the stock photo, the entire thing looked white and gold. In reality, only the larger laced bow is white, and the smaller bow is a cream color that matches the pearls. The moon is metal plated in gold color with white rhinestones. I think it looks a lot better than the stock picture.
Neo Queen Serenity Statue: This item is actually a re-release from 2018. I didn't buy it originally, but decided to get it this time. The image of Neo Queen Serenity is laser etched in the glass, and lights up from the bottom. It not very big, probably a few inches tall. However, the details are lovely. It reminds me of the hologram of Neo Queen Serenity that Prince Demande had in his domain.
Silver Crystal Charm: I love collecting silver crystal merchandise. The best part of this charm is that the crystal lights up! Such a wonderful idea.
Princess Serenity Music Jewelry Box: I didn't even have to think when I decided on getting this music jewelry box. It has Princess Serenity etched on the glass lid, lots of frills and stones, AND it plays Tuxedo Mirage (one of my favorite songs)! There are two compartments: one on top (which you can see through the glass lid), and a drawer on the bottom. It's not a big box, but it's so darn pretty. The $100 price tag can be a bit off-putting, however, I think it's a great collectible item if you like Princess Serenity.
My verdict: I love all forms of Sailor Moon, so Princess Serenity/Neo Queen Serenity merchandise are must-haves for me. My favorite item is the Princess Serenity Music Jewelry Box from this year's selection of Serenity items. I like that USJ added the music function, which made it a more special piece than just a plain jewelry box. In addition, I also really enjoyed the Silver Crystal necklace. It's such a great idea to make it light up. Otherwise, I could have just used my Miniaturely Table crystal as a pendant. The rest of the Princess Serenity items are all lovely, and I am happy with everything I got.
